This is part of a two canvas painting, "Southwest's Summer Fiesta~Left Canvas". Each side measures 30"W x 24"H x 1.25"D. When both canvases are put together the overall size is 60"W x 24"H. You can buy prints of this side (Left) or the other side (right) or buy them both to makeup the complete landscape. The mountain in the background was done with a palette knife for texture. That mountain is in Scottsdale, Arizona. It is "Camelback Mtn". Each canvas is signed, Right on the lower right and Left on the lower left. The original painting is sold so only prints are available here. Created and copyrighted in September 2012.
Carol has been a professional artist for over fifty years, mastering calligraphy, watercolors and now acrylics. She studied at the Cooper School of Art in Cleveland, Ohio, and took many private classes but considers herself to be a self taught artist. Using lots of detail, bright and bold colors and sometimes a touch of humor, has won her many awards. She continues to win awards today. She has been published and has a painting in the Postal Museum of the Smithsonian. Carol is a realist so she paints what she sees in her particular style. She loves nature and enjoys painting flowers, landscapes and some abstracts. She applies a lot of layering in her paintings no matter the subject matter.
